Dear Softball Coach,
Hello.
Another great season. Another league championship. Another season filled with competition, fun and laughter.
Our season consisted of double plays, home runs, and strikeouts. There were countless "money" plays from short to first, our outfield was stellar and second base was covered by a couple of gals, each playing with style and grace!
But Coach, this letter is not about our pitching, our hitting or our record. It's really about YOU.
Thank you for your encouragement all season, especially to me. I know that I caused extra work to find another girl due to my training for the Pelotonia ride yet once it was over, you welcomed me back to the playing field and it felt as if I hadn't missed a single play!
Thank you for praying for our team before and after every victory (and that one pesky loss). Starting each game with prayer reminded me that God is in EVERYTHING, even softball! Also, praying with your opponent after each game promoted community. Having the ability to pray with your friends, teammates, and opponents...what a concept.
And Thank you for being our friend. You have been such a dear friend to the team, but more importantly to my family. I could list all of the attributes, qualities, characteristics that have made you such an important part of our lives but number one for me is your friendship with my husband. I thank you, Coach, for just being his friend.
Well, the cleats need washed, bat needs wiped down and the glove needs a good cleaning. It's been a great season, Coach. Thanks again...for all that you do!
