20 days in review

Okay, so it has been 20 days since my last post. Let's do a quick review of what has happened in the wacky world of sports...
  1. Yankees erase the double-digit deficit to make their way back in to the Wild Card race
  2. Hillcrest Baptist comes in second place at the "Champ of Champs" softball tournament in Columbus, Ohio!
  3. Tom Glavine wins his 300th game
  4. Barry Bonds breaks the record
  5. Tiger Woods wins the PGA championship
  6. Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch win the latest NASCAR races
  7. Indians can't score
  8. Grove City Red compete in a couple of local tournaments in preparation for the Labor Day National Nazarene softball tourney in Cincinnati
  9. Two of baseball's finest are inducted in to Cooperstown: Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken, Jr
  10. NFL training camp begins
  11. Charlie Sanders, Bruce Matthews, Roger Wehrli, Thurman Thomas, Gene Hickerson and Michael Irvin are inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame
  12. Ohio State football practice resumes
  13. Former 49ers coach Bill Walsh dies
  14. Michael Vick reaches plea agreement
  15. Hillcrest RED co-ed softball team finishes a fine regular season, placing second in the standings but will compete for the tournament championship this weekend
  16. Cleveland Browns fans think they have found their hero in Brady Quinn who played limited time in a PRE-SEASON game
  17. Michael Peca signs with The Columbus Blue Jackets
  18. David Beckham steps foot on American soil
  19. Indians score 11 runs while in another game the Texas Rangers score 30
