Cat on the porch...

Cat. I don't want to give him a name yet I want to call him something other than Cat. But, if I name him then I am taking ownership of the cat. The cat that has found a home on our porch over the past few weeks. A cat that we made a makeshift bed for out of towels. Haven't fed Cat. He looks healthy which makes me wonder if he belongs to a neighbor and we are just a resting area throughout the night.

I woke up, as I do on Friday, early to go to work. I walked out on the porch and Cat was there, his black and white body curled up and looking pretty cozy. He looked at me and kind of gave me that, "Nope, I am not moving because I am really not afraid of you...or anyone else for that matter!" He put his head back down and I think fell right back to sleep. Cat has an attitude with me already!

I stood there for just a bit and chuckled, "wonder what my friend would think if she knew that Cat found a home on my porch and I kind of like it?"

See, my friend is a veterinarian who really, really would like for me and my family to become a pet family. She is co-owner of a wonderful animal hospital in Grove City aptly named "Concord Chapel Animal Hospital." Wondering why it is Concord Chapel? Because the owners bought an old church and restored it, revamped it and re-purposed it into an animal hospital.

Inside it is a mix of modern and old, keeping the aesthetics of the building (stained glass windows, pews,) but modernizing it by showing the duct work, and adding cool paint colors which adds to the vibrancy of the up-to-date building.

Concord Chapel Animal Hospital is an amazing place to take your pet. And this is coming from a non-pet person. Believe me. NON-PET PERSON. I find it amazing because I see the care on my friend's face as she tells of the emergency surgery that she had to perform on that cat or that dog. She doesn't whine or complain if there is a late call, another emergency or just a client that needs an extra hug or treat! She cares about their owners, too. Dr. Lauron can relate to each one because she loves each client as they were her own.

And that is just about one of the Dr's on staff. Dr. Kerr is just as wonderful when it comes to the animals. They are both highly qualified and let me tell you, if Cat were mine, I'd head out to Grove City with him to have him checked out!

Cat. Hmmmm. Cat. As I walk by the door tonight I will see if Cat is there and if he looks safe and warm.

Oreo. Yep, I think I would call him Oreo. Uh-oh........
