A few weeks ago there were some rumblings on sports radio concerning Michael Vick, the house he owns and the activities that were happening on the premises. Drug possession brought the police to the home yet while they were there they found evidence of dog fighting. Michael Vick and 3 others have been indicted over the dog fighting allegations. These allegations include killing dogs that were not up to par-by electrocution, drowning and holding the animal down until it just dies. The horror.
So, what is Roger Goodell to do? His past few suspensions of league stars were swift, even before the legal system passed judgement. Pac Man Jones knows all too well of Goodell's
attempts to clean up the league. And I think he is to be commended on his actions (watch out Bengals).
The Atlanta Falcons are in a quandary as well. Keep him, let him go, suspend him a season, sit him out until the season starts?
Truthfully, I am sick of the whole matter and I think this is just the beginning. There is a twisted underworld of dog fighting that will surface due to this event and I am glad for that.
However, Michael Vick, what are you thinking? I am floored when I think of the talent that God has gifted you. To play a backyard game and get paid to do it. What make you turn to dog fighting for entertainment? Can't afford to pay the greens fees at the local golf resort? Maybe you would like to go see the Atlanta Braves play? Probably enough sporting events in the greater Atlanta area that could keep you busy...or maybe try volunteering at the local food pantry...keeps you humble, my friend.
