Saturday Softball

What a wonderful way to spend an overcast Saturday afternoon in Central Ohio...watching an annual Alumni softball tournament. Hooray to the ladies from the class of 1992 who advanced in the winner's bracket and will enjoy a late start on Sunday for the first time in years (Way to go Erin!). Unfortunately the 1981 men "classic" team got ousted from the competition and are heading home early this year (Sorry Jack.).

I am sharing this because there aren't many opportunities when you can just set aside the busyness of life, kick back and watch a game. Today I did. And it was nice to just watch non-professional athletes have fun! There was no mention today of salaries, steroids, or scandals. There was no drama that an underpaid umpire couldn't fix, no one got tossed because of arguing, in fact even the losers left the playing field smiling! Yes, some were there to "re-live the glory days," while others chatted about the changes in their lives since they last played together. It was a day for friends to reconnect. All in all, it was a pleasant afternoon.

Just a reminder to take some time and enjoy a game!
