Sally on Sports.
Seems so outdated now. I don't write about sports. I guess I never really did. I thought it would be easy to write about all of the different facets of the game. All games. All sports. All angles.
It isn't that easy. What seems to occupy the space on this blog is my life, my love, my family, my daily grind. Now don't get the wrong idea, I still am OBSESSED with sports. I listen, I watch, I question, I enjoy the game but I just don't find it as fulfilling to tell you about this touchdown, that home run, that spike, that goal, that game.
You may stumble upon here wanting to read the latest update on the score. But, you are really not going to find that here...ever.
But really, who am I kidding? Is there really anyone out there that is reading this? I forward it to my husband and a dear friend but other than that, nobody is really rushing to "Sally on Sports" to be entertained or challenged by my writing.
So what is the purpose? Why do I write? I would love to have this HUGE audience and hear an encouraging word now and then but really, why do I write?
This past Friday while on my shift at the local Y, I had the opportunity to share this blog with my co-worker. It was FUN to see her read, laugh, and even wipe a tear because these words evoked such emotions. I laughed and cried with her. Each post she read took me to a place in time that was so special, so real. "My Band-Aid Love Letter, The Gentleman and Lovely Lady, A Tale of Two Dads, You're Sixteen." Each of these are but a brief moment in time yet a stirring reminder of my past. And one day, they will be a memory of me for my children, hopefully reminding them of my love for them.
I love to write.
I love to reminisce.
I love to laugh.
I love to cry.
I love to be real.
I love...
This blog may say Sally on Sports but it is more like Meanor's Musings.
As this year comes to an end, I pray that I find time to muse a little more.
Blessings.
