Cardboard Testimony revisited

We were at a softball tournament this past weekend in the Cincinnati area. Our team didn't do very well, but we had a nice time and are already looking forward to next year. It should be fun and maybe more productive in the victory column.

The tournament is set up so that there are games on Saturday, off Sunday, then resume games on Monday. Our team spends Sunday morning at the host church, Springdale Nazarene. The services, sermons and music have all been a blessing over the years and this year proved to be just as powerful as the rest.

The sermon topic? Restoration. What has God restored in your life? Have you allowed God to restore you, change you, help you with your burdens?

It ended with Springdale's version of cardboard testimony. The video link that I shared with you before is overwhelming but to see it done in front of us was life-changing. Why? Because all of the people were right there in front of you, showing how God's restoring power has worked in their lives. I had the opportunity to speak with a couple of the "presenters" and they said that after the first service, there were several "add-ons" because they felt the intense need to share their testimony. *Cancer diagnosis, death within months=cancer free for two years*...
*Cerebral Palsy at birth=born again believer*...*broken marriage=healed marriage*...*homeless &drug abuse=drug free, owns home*...

Pastor had an alter call and in the 10 years I have visited the church, this was the first year I saw men from softball teams run down to the altar. One of our teammates was one of the first. It was plain to see that the Holy Spirit was moving through the sanctuary, pricking at so many hearts. Most of our team included.

If you have a moment, check out the link and ponder what your testimony would be...
