And A Happy New Year...

A New Year.

What does that mean? Does it mean we can erase everything from the previous year? At midnight the whole slate is clean? All of the baggage, sorrow, sadness, mistakes, joys, tears, successes, and failures are all just gone?

Nope.

A New Year brings Hope. I think that a New Year allows us to start fresh by learning from everything that we had the opportunity to be a part of in the year past. We grow. We learn. We take responsibility.

But I guess that should be everyday. Everyday I need to grow, learn and take responsibility for my actions.

When I sat down to write today, it was to be short and sweet. A nice wish for the New Year. But as I sit here my mind is flooded with what my New Year should include...not resolutions. My New Year needs an action plan!

I want my Year to bring me closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. Put Him first daily. Learn to grow in Him.

My New Year action plan includes being a better wife. I want my husband to be proud of me and I want him to be able to count on me. I want him to never doubt my love for him.

Patience with my children is another priority on my action plan. There are glimmers of hope everyday in this area but I know that with God's help, this area will see an improvement. I need more rest, I need to be consistent but most of all, I need to be there for them...unconditionally.

There are so many other areas in my life that need improvement. My action plan for the upcoming year also includes making sure that my friends know that each one means so much to me. Do they know it? Maybe not now, but watch out...it's a new year!

I also would like to make an impact on our tiny neighborhood. I want my neighbors to know that I am proud of where we make our home. I want them to see Jesus in my family.

And oh, this is just the beginning.

So, how do I implement my action plan? I pray. I pray everyday that I become the person that God intends me to be...a Jesus Freak, a wife, a mom and a friend. With His help, this year will be even better than the last.

Happy New Year.

Next Thursday works for me.
I looked for you Wednesday when I came to tutor, but I didn't see it.
Yep, they have had several cases of it in his classroom.
I need your email address so I don't have to leave giant comments on your blog!
