I had a moment. They don't come very often but I am embracing it and am so thankful that I was blessed by it...
I was swept away for a romantic evening by my husband of 15 years. We enjoyed a night at a lodge, whose full capacity is 102 rooms. Last night there were only 3 rooms booked. It was quiet. It was peaceful. It seemed to be ours alone. It was wonderful.
It wasn't the moment.
We had a delicious dinner. The dining room was decorated with garland and Christmas trees. Our waiter treated us like we were the only couple sharing an anniversary dinner (oops, we were). None the less, he took such good care of us. We felt like royalty.
It wasn't the moment.
We had the workout facility to ourselves, the pool, sauna, and hot tub. We talked of our past and daydreamed of the future!
Yet, still not the moment.
The moment came when we finally were able to reach our kids on the cell phone. We did not have reception in the middle of nowhere. I tried holding the phone to the window, under the table, around the tree. Nothing. One little bar showed up on the screen when I held the phone over the television but I had to use the speaker or the bar disappeared. We called our girl and she was fine as I knew she would be.
We then called our son. He asked if I would tell him all the fun stuff we did and I wasn't to leave out any details! I told him about the ping-pong we played, the dinner, the pool. In the middle of explaining everything we did, he interrupted me and asked "can we pray Mom?"
"Sure buddy. Do you want to pray?"
"Yes. Dear Lord, I pray for Mommy tonight. For her to sleep well and not let anyone knock on her door and keep her up. Keep her safe."
That was My Moment. My 7 year old son prayed for me! He was concerned for me! He jumped out of his little world and prayed for his mommy! I cried (imagine that). I needed that moment. I needed to know that he loved me and thought of me. I am so thankful that The Lord gave me that one moment in time to feel like maybe I was doing something right.

I also want to take a moment to thank Ryan for all he did to make our 15th Anniversary so special. I love you.
