Co-Ed Softball

We just got finished playing in a co-ed softball game. It's funny how even in a church league, a non-competitive league, I still want to win. I had a coach say to me once to "blow the game before you blow the witness," and I strive to do that each game. I want to represent Christ through how I play and how I react when winning and losing.

But I do like to win! It is crazy that I can think about the game all day, get nervous, play the game and then critique the way I played the rest of the evening. So maybe it's not winning, or playing, but maybe it is about still being able to play and be competitive.

Hey, I'm 40 after all!

I like playing with the guys, I like having my husband give me a high five after a good play, I like making friends with the players on the other team, and I even like to bat (albeit that is probably what I like least about softball...hitting!).

How long will I play? Truly, as long as this old body can muster up the energy to do so and I guess as long as my coach wants me to play!
