I consider myself a fan of baseball yet one aspect of MLB that I do not understand is trading. Take for example C.C. Sabathia of the Cleveland Indians. Yes, The Tribe ended up stinking this year so the management decided to trade our best pitcher to Milwaukee for three minor league players. And like so many players of Cleveland past, C.C. leaves and has become a pitcher on fire. He has been unbeatable. And we have three minor league prospects. Hmmm...
Now there is talk of trading Casey Blake, third/first base utility player. Wonder what we will get for him?
I understand wanting to clean house for salary reasons, but to trade players that are doing well or have the capacity of doing well that I have a hard time grasping.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Update- As of this evening the trade rumors seem to be coming true; Casey Blake is now a LA Dodger. I am disappointed.
